    Couples Retreat

    Introduces participants to the importance of being in the moment through exercises that will help participants disconnect from their modern lives and return to living attuned to the present through mindfulness practices and immersive outdoor walk-and talk sessions.

    Day 1 Schedule

    • Meet & Greet

      9 AM to 10 AM
      Check-in and meet the organizers and your fellow retreat friends. Get a tour of the property and get an overview of planned activities.

    • Creek & Gem Walk

      10 AM to 11 AM
      Mindfulness walk through a creek that contains fossils and gems that can be found. Focus on being present and practicing attending to your surroundings.

    • Free Time

      11 AM to 12 PM
      Take time for yourself to reflect on the experience of being close to nature. Open time to meditate, play cornhole, axe-throwing, archery, reading, writing, journaling or do whatever is therapeutic for you.

    • Lunch

      12:30 PM to 2 PM
      Nourish your body as you socialize with like-minded individuals who are together with you in the journey of self-discovery and healing. Enjoy education on nutrition, food, and mental health.

      Celebrated Psychologist in both North and South America and the Founder of Arizona Mental Health Care discusses biopsychosocial model of wellness, preventative mental health, behavioral activation, burnout prevention and recovery.

    • Team Buidiling Exercise

      4:30 PM to 6 PM
      Make friends and socialize, decrease isolation and enjoy meeting others like you. You may just make a lifelong friend during this experience.

    • Golden Hour Dining

      6 PM to 7:30 PM
      Reflect on the beauty of impermanence and the joy of a day well-lived by watching the sunset and enjoy dinner with your new friends to the sound of live relaxing music.

    • Star Gazing and Smores

      7:30 PM to 10 PM
      Reflect on the expansion of perspective and consciousness as we reconnect with the universe as you enjoy the sky's beautiful light show.

    • Lounge Inside

      10 PM- 11 PM
      Enjoy reading from our library of mental health, play ping-pong and lounge with some music and connect with some of the people who think like you.

    Off-Site Pleasurable Activities

    • Bike Riding

      Reconnect with your inner child by riding a bike through one of Arizona's most beloved scenic routes on Mountainview Road.

    • Ghost Town Tour

      Walk around and explore Goldfield Ghost town and enjoy taking pictures, shopping, visiting a museum, or go underground on a mine tour.

    • Superstition Ziplining

      Face your fear or get a boost of endorphins ziplining created by world renowned Stan Checketts.

    Day 2 Schedule

    • Sunrise Breakfast

      6 AM to 7 AM
      Enjoy the awe of the beginning of a new day, reflect on the opportunity to connect to yourself and the inner and outer environments. Enjoy wildlife sighting with fruit, pastries, coffee, lattes, and juice bar.

    • Hieroglyphic Trail

      7 AM to 11 AM
      Learn history and reflect on the way we were designed to live before everything was complicated in the modern times. Learn Native-American History while hiking the Hieroglyphic Trail to Petroglyphs.

    • Free Time

      11 AM to 12 PM
      Take time to reflect on the experience and being in the moment surrounded by nature. Open time to meditate, play cornhole, axe-throwing, archery, reading, writing, journaling or do whatever is therapeutic for you.

    • Scenic Bike Ride

      12 PM to 2:30 PM
      In this scenic Bike Ride to Arizona's Mining Town you will gain perspective and have fun with some of your new friends by doing an activity that would help you reconnect with your inner child.

    • Open Conversation

      2:30 PM to 3:30 PM
      Share some insights gained from this experience. Process thoughts, feelings and emotions during this therapeutic conversation hour.

    • Farewell

      03:30 PM to 4 PM
      Say goodbye (for now). Hope to see you again in Level 2 where you will become inspired to dive deeper into mental health wellness and more challenging hikes.

    What is restorative mental health?

    It is a strengths-based holistic approach that fosters empowerment and agency, empowering people to work on their self-efficiency and healing actively. It also integrates the power of community, social support, and body-mind connection.

    Do I have to participate in all the activities?

    No, you may opt-out of some of the planned activities and enjoy alone time or schedule one-on-one individual sessions with Dr Daniella Pedroso during your retreat for as an add-on.

    Where is the retreat located?

    We are located only 30 minutes from Phoenix in the Superstition Mountains and you will receive the address after you sign up.

    What do I have to bring?

    Please bring hiking gear.

    Is individual psychotherapy available?

    Yes, it is not included in the main package but it can be scheduled as an add-on to your retreat.

    How many levels are there?

    There are three levels to this retreat and more advanced levels are only available to those who have completed the lower level ones.

    How hard is the hikes?

    The Level one guided hike of the Hieroglyphic Trail to Petroglyphs is a moderate 3.0-mile out-and-back trail with a gentle uphill grade.

    Can I bring my pet?

    No pets are allowed on the retreats.

    Is it co-op?

    We have special retreats for singles that are co-op, and we also have special retreats for couples, men only and women only.

    What is the Level 2?

    It is the continuation of the experience for those who participated in Level 1. In Level 2 you will become inspired to dive deeper into mental health wellness.

    Meet Dr. Daniella

    For whatever reason you were led to us today, we are happy you are here for your future, your family, your friends, and others that may cross your path. I have devoted my life to Psychology and the science and study of Mental Heath Care by earning a doctorate, a post doctorate, 2 masters degrees in clinical psychology and practicing as a psychologist in both America and South America.

    • Mindfulness

      By being in the present and attuned to the moment-by-moment experience you can regulate your mood, increase insight, and reconnect with yourself and the environment around you. Being in the here-and-now helps reduce stress, anxiety, and depression and has overall benefits for general mental health.

    • Bio-Psycho-Social Model of Wellness

      Understand the importance cultivating the body's needs (sleep, exercise, and nutrition), the psychological aspects of wellness (thoughts, perceptions, beliefs, coping skills, self-esteem) and the importance of finding connection with others are the three pillars of mental health.

    • Behavioral Activation

      Behavioral activation is a form of intervention most commonly used for depression. It includes activity monitoring and scheduling pleasurable activities to activate positive mood and decrease avoidance.

    Restorative mental health focuses on healing, resilience, and long-term well-being by restoring a person's sense of autonomy, purpose, and connection to themselves and the community. In this immersive experience, you will also enjoy the following:

    Nature-Based Mental Wellness

    The healing powers of nature exposure on improving mental health and mood include lower stress levels, decrease of depressive symptoms, enhanced short-term memory and cognitive abilities. By pairing green therapy and behavioral activation our nature-based walk and talk activities help improve mood and decrease stress. Benefits include enhanced self-expression, collaboration, and emotional-regulation.
