Nature-Based Wellness
-
The healing powers of nature exposure on improving mental health and mood include lower stress levels, decrease of depressive symptoms, enhanced short-term memory and cognitive abilities. By pairing green therapy and behavioral activation our nature-based walk and talk activities help improve mood and decrease stress. Benefits include enhanced self-expression, collaboration, and emotional-regulation.
Behavioral activation is a form of intervention most commonly used for depression. It includes activity monitoring and scheduling pleasurable activities to activate positive mood and decrease avoidance.
-
By being in the present and attuned to the moment-by-moment experience you can regulate your mood, increase insight, and reconnect with yourself and the environment around you. Being in the here-and-now helps reduce stress, anxiety, and depression and has overall benefits for general mental health.
Understand the importance cultivating the body's needs (sleep, exercise, and nutrition), the psychological aspects of wellness (thoughts, perceptions, beliefs, coping skills, self-esteem) and the importance of finding connection with others are the three pillars of mental health.
